Had a very good weekend. Spent quality time with the wife and kids and had a productive weekend working on the sitcom pilot. We're about 10% away from completing the project and only have to fill out the last two scenes. The outlines for the scenes are already there and just need some additional dialog.
We've even gotten some good feed back from a couple of beta readers which included a thumbs up on the show concept and the character development.
Though I don't generally have a lot of faith in contests in general, I have to say that I'm feeling very good about what we've written and feel like we've got a real shot at this.
The overall creative flow I was feeling over the weekend even extended itself to a couple of ideas for fan fiction shorts. One features Xander Harris from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the other is about Harry Potter. Both stories will feature older versions of these characters and may lead into a crossover storyline. I'll probably keep them on the back burner for another week until the sitcom pilot is finished and submitted by this Saturday. Then I can turn up the heat on the back burner projects, which include my novel and a Star Trek Voyager fan fiction short.
So little to do and so much time. Strike that, reverse it.
