Too stupid to live

Stupid is as Stupid does. This by its very nature is true. People with the tendency towards stupidity will do stupid things. This particular rant is geared towards myself, and the stupid thing I just did. The day started out like gangbusters. I was in a creative zone and wrote a great scene for the last chapter of my sci-fi novel. It was exactly what I wanted to say to set up the following scenes that set the ending. It came out so well I was inspired to write a blog on the experience.
Still in the creative zone I wrote my blog in the blog space provided. Normally I prefer to write in word and then copy and paste so I can do my editing there. Doing that however causes me to have to fix my quotation marks and apostrophes. Since that’s a pain in the ass I decided to work backwards this morning and write in the blog space first and the copy to word, edit and paste back to the blog. Simple right? Not likely. I wrote my entire blog about my creative epiphany this morning and was ecstatic over the way it came out. It was exactly what I wanted to say exactly the way I wanted to say it. Dead bang on. Yea for me.
Unfortunately I was asked to look something up and inadvertently used the blog browser. The result of this action of course was that my blog went bye-bye as it was never saved and never copied and hence, never pasted in word. Needless to say I’m now beside myself in anger and frustration. The blog is gone and although I’m going to rewrite it, it won’t be the same. The moment has passed and the creative flow has ebbed. It’ll be done from memory with the gist but not the passion. Damn I hate make stupid mistakes. It really chaps my ass. So now I’m writing this blog telling you all about my stupidity and allowing me to vent so I don’t snap and go on a random killing spree.
Now I’m going to try to and recreate my original blog so I have to calm down so I can be funny. Hopefully it’ll be decent even though it won’t be the same.
So how’s your day going?

PS: This blog was first written in word before being transferred to the blog. Better late than never.

PPS:...and of course the apostrophe problem i mentioned earlier never manifested itself rendering this the point of this blog moot. Nothing like a little salt on the wound. Nice.

Ouch.

I did that twice in the same day once. Not with a blog but with a chapter of novel. I wrote it, thought that it was very good and went to do close a not-microsoft word windows and accidentally hit the X for the document I was writing. Now, naturally, microsoft always askes that "You've made changes do you want to save?" and being especially brilliant I clicked the 'no' (but I meant to hit cancel) and POOF there went all my brilliant work. (Many moments of dumb-shock and then cursing later) I huffed a great sigh and set about rewriting what I had just written. (It wasn't as good the second time around.) THEN I proceeded to do the EXACT SAME THING.

I felt brilliant. ;) Hope your day is better.

feeling my pain
Wow! Twice! That hurts. I see you’re feeling my pain right now. I was absolutely livid when I did it. I decided to write this blog to vent about that one and get it out of my system. I just now wrote the scene that inspired the original blog. I made sure I didn’t lose that one. Of course now I can’t figure out where I saved the rest of the last chapter I had written previously. I know its not lost but at least I have it hand written at home so I wouldn’t lose much. It’ll still aggravate me though if I have to do double work.
Now I’m going to try and recreate the original blog. I’m in a better mood now but I’m a bit crispy. I might wait til tomorrow to take a crack at it. I’m going out tonight to see Team America- World Police so I should be in a more productive state of mind. We’ll see though.
Hopefully you’ll get this since I’m not sure if you received my response to your last reply.

I might have gotten it. There for a week or two I didn't respond to anything. I haven't gone back and looked at all the things I ignored yet.

Was Team America any good?
